Lauren graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and a Concentration in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin. She went on to work as a Registered Dietitian at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in San Francisco and later as a representative for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. Growing up in a medical family, Lauren knew early on that her interest and future lay in the biological sciences. While in her early 20’s, Lauren started to have various puzzling symptoms that stumped doctors and went misdiagnosed for years. After years of struggling with fatigue, heart palpitations and digestive upset (to name a few), she was eventually diagnosed with an autoimmune thyroid condition. Her physician referred her to an acupuncturist/herbalist to help her heal, in addition to taking a pharmaceutical. It was through personal journey and professional work in San Francisco that she found her passion and ultimate career in the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Lauren received her Master’s Degree from the prestigious AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine in Austin, Texas. She is board certified by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and is licensed by the Texas Medical Board. With a strong background in Western medicine, beginning with her undergraduate degree and later with her clinical experience working in a hospital, Lauren believes in the importance of an integration of Western and Eastern philosophies to treat the entire person. Lauren and her husband, Jeff, moved to Austin from San Francisco in 2010 when her husband was offered a job at HomeAway.com. They were thrilled to return to Austin and raise their 9 year old daughter and 7 year old son in a city and state that they adore. In her free time, Lauren enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and doing all things outdoors.
